At the moment we use related products free. What happens, if i install the pro-version? We have huindreds of articles and all are linked with the free-Version. I don´t have the time to change all articles in one session, will the old related products be kept until i change the options?

nothing ;-) you will be able to still use free version.
But i suggest to not use it when you will have pro version. It will be a kind of redundancy.
Pro version has a feature to show products previously defined in "free" version.
follow this:
- uninstall current "free" version of the module
- install related products pro
- go to ANY product edit page and open "related products pro" tab where you can manage related products block / tab
- hit button to create new instance of "related products"
- select option: What to dispaly?": import from related products free
- scroll down to section "where you want to display this list of products?" select: everywhere: YES
instance of related products created with these options will show the "related products" on each product page that previously had a configuration for "related products free".
