We have a problem with bots(?) that will keep on adding products to a cart and eventually slow down our server. I just ordered Maximum product quantity. I want to maximize the number of products in the cart for quest and also the maximum quantity of the product for quests to 20 different products per cart and maximum 10 pieces per product. For customers I want to restrickt this to maximum 50 products per cart and maximum 25 pieces per product, how do I configure this? Regards,

Module "maximum product quantity" allows to define maximum allowed quantities of selected products in cart. These settings are applicable for products, not for cart.
Configuration of the module
So, if you want to:
1. go to module configuration page
2. select "mass generate quantity limits"
3. select all categories by clicking on "expand all" and "check all"
4. from "what you want to do" dropdown select "define maximum quantity for products
5. from "target group of customers" select group of customers "customer" - module will generate quantity limits for selected group
6. inside field "quantity to define" type 25 (limit for customers)
7. save
After this module will generate maximum allowed quantity limit for all products, and the limit value will be equal to 25 and it will be applicable for selected group of customers. Generated settings will be available to edit on products settings pages ( https://i.imgur.com/XesQzvM.png ) so you will be able to alter them for selected products (to use different settings of the module for selected products).
If you need to generate the limits for other groups (you mentioned that you want different limit for guests) just repeat the process and select other group of customers (in context of your requirements it will be visitors group). If you want to mass remove settings - just select appropriate option in field "what you want to do".
If you need to define the limit number of products in cart (total quantity of products in cart, not for selected products only as "maximum product quantity" module works) you need some other solution like this one: https://mypresta.eu/modules/ordering-process/limit-quantity-of-products-in-cart-for-unlogged-users.html
